North-West Suburbs Baptists worship night report

Last night I went to the North-West Suburbs Baptists Worship Night at Sydenham Baptist Church. It was good to share together with other Baptists from this region – it’s been a long time.

Mark Simpson, from Essendon, shared the vision of increasing our congregations from 3000 to 7000 in 7 years. What encouraged me was that he spoke mainly about working TOGETHER, and not just Baptists but ALL denominations. Good things are happening in Moonee Valley among the pastors and churches, similar to here in Hobsons Bay.

So, there is hope for the West. But we might have to think a bit wider – the North and North-West have distinct identities, but are in the same need as we are.

At the end of the night all the pastors exercised their servant role and ministered to people from the congregation who wanted to share the vision. This brought a breath of fresh air into Baptist circles – thanks Mark, and thank you Jesus!

One last question – Mark, do we have to wait 7 years?
